"Making audiences go wow — one moment of wonder at a time."
Mark has had a passion for entertainment since he was young. Originally quite shy, he found that performing as a character helped him overcome that feeling though he was forever being told off for being the "class clown."
Later, in his teens, he discovered that being entertaining helped him gain more friends. Then David Blaine came on the scene. Mark had seen magic before, but this was new this was different. It was street magic on TV, something never done before. He knew then that this is what he wanted to do.
Over the years, he did magic as a hobby and at family events. Eventually, he started performing in local pubs until he got better. He then found a bar called Illusions in Bristol where magicians could perform open magic, and he began to perfect his skills with the help and guidance of the owner, Mark Bennett. It was Bennett who gave him his first official job in magic.
Now Mark performs at Smoke and Mirrors in Bristol, and has also been given a residency at another pub in Bath called Slight, which was inspired by the same idea. There, guests can come and see him perform for free before fully committing to booking him.
Although "magician" is his official title, Mark considers himself an entertainer first. He has worked as a radio presenter, pursued separate passions entertaining people as a content creator, and appeared on Britain's Got Talent, where he performed his own song.
"To him, entertaining is his first priority making audiences go wow is the cherry on the cake. Anything to take people out of the normal life issues and struggles, even for just a moment, to give them a sense of wonder."
Today, Mark is a professional magician with a membership in The Magic Circle and has performed at many events and venues.
